Patient Video Consultation Guide

1

Before

  • Log in to the patient portal using your registered email and password.
  • Open "My Appointments" from the sidebar. You will see Upcoming and History sections.
  • Find your confirmed consultation in the Upcoming list — each card shows consultation type, doctor name, date, time, and reason.

Prepare Before Your Visit

  • Upload recent medical reports (blood tests, ultrasound, CT/MRI, prescriptions) in the Reports section
  • Update your medication list and allergies
  • Update your Kidney Passport and lab values
  • Write down your symptoms, when they started, and questions for the doctor
  • Keep identification and current medication bottles nearby
  • Use a private, quiet, well-lit room where others cannot overhear.
  • Check your internet connection, battery, camera, microphone, and speakers.
2

Joining

  • Open the consultation room from your appointment.
  • The consent screen appears with four acknowledgments you must check:

Verify Your Identity

Your identity will be verified against the consultation record before you can participate.

Telemedicine Consent

I consent to receive healthcare services through this video consultation. I understand this is a clinical encounter equivalent to an in-person visit.

Emergency Disclaimer

This consultation is not for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.

Privacy & Confidentiality

This session is not recorded or transcribed. Please ensure you are in a private, well-lit space with a stable internet connection.

Why is "Continue to Video" disabled? The button stays disabled until all four boxes are checked. This is for your safety and legal compliance — you must understand the nature of telemedicine, emergency limitations, and privacy before joining.

  • Click "Continue to Video" after checking all four boxes.
  • Allow camera and microphone access when your browser prompts you.
  • Wait for the secure room to load ("Preparing secure video session…").

If the doctor has not joined yet

You will see the video room with your camera feed. Wait — the doctor will join shortly. Use this time to test your camera and microphone.

3

During

  • Confirm your identity when the doctor asks (full name, date of birth).
  • Tell the doctor your current physical location (important for emergency response).
  • Explain your symptoms clearly — when they started, how often, how severe.
  • Show medication bottles or visible swelling if the doctor requests it.
