How Video Consultations Work

Everything you need to know about your secure tele-nephrology consultation — for doctors and patients.

What Happens During a Video Consultation?

Consent & Check-in

Before joining, both doctor and patient complete a pre-consultation check-in acknowledging identity, telemedicine consent, emergency disclaimer, and privacy.

Secure Video Session

A encrypted video room is created using Cloudflare RealtimeKit. The session is not recorded or transcribed by the platform.

Clinical Documentation

The doctor documents notes, may use AI-assisted drafts (always doctor-reviewed), creates prescriptions, care plans, and follow-up instructions.

Doctor Ends the Session

Only the doctor can end the consultation for all participants. Clinical documentation can continue after the video ends.

Not for Emergencies

Video consultations are not intended for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US) or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.

Your Privacy

  • • The platform does not currently record or transcribe consultations.
  • • Join from a private location where others cannot overhear.
  • • AI-generated content is reviewed and approved by the doctor before entering the clinical record.
  • • Final medical decisions are always made by the treating doctor.
